Semana 75

Hey everyone!!

17 months as a missionary today. Crazy.
This last week we had zone conference which was spirituality filled as always. Lots of great things coming up this week and we're working hard to get our friends to church this coming week.
Not to much happened this week besides conference but I just wanted to share a scripture that I like
Alma 11: 11-13
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.
I love these scriptures about the Savior and I know he loves me and died for me and I've been thinking how I can better myself because we all need to become better and think Celestial. I love you all! And I hope you have a great week!

1) As a mission we reached 105 Baptisms in the month of October. The Córdoba mission hasn't reached 100 Baptisms since 2017 so it was a huge achievement!

2) Mission change starting July 1st in 2024
The providence of Córdoba will be its own mission now.

Conrado's Baptism and Tranfers!

¡Hola a todos!

First off I'm sending this email on Thursday because we had our Pday changed to today for transfers. But anyway this last week was awesome!! Conrado Lujan got baptized and we have a lot of more people on date for Baptism this next month. I'm staying in Anisacate and my new companion is Elder Vergara form Chile. He's got about 7 months on the mission. Also funny thing, Elder Vergara is my 3rd Chilean companion in a row!
Conrado's baptism was awesome but a little stressful, we had everything planned and ready to go, but when we got to the church we found out that the baptismal pool wasn't there because it's a small church and we just have a pool we set up to do Baptisms. So, we were deciding to go to the river to do the baptism but it turns out that there was going to be a big storm coming and people shouldn't be In the river during a storm, so we ended up calling the bishop in a different ward to do the baptism there but luckly 10 minutes after we called the other ward, a member from the branch who works for the church pulls up with the Baptism pool in the back of his van!! Literally a life saver and it was such a huge relief!! There's always opposition during a baptism!!
Also, another change is that it's just the two of us in Anisacate now. The sister missionaries left the area and now we have the whole area of Anisacate again. The branch here is just absolutely amazing and the members are awesome!!
Super excited to continue working here next month! But that's all the updates for now.
Que tengan una gran semana!
Love Elder Burbank!
