Rain, Thunder and Lighting! Sick and Singing too.
¡Hola a todos!
This past week has been crazy. On Monday we had the craziest thunder storm! It was dumping rain and the streets got flooded so bad it was looking like a river! It was fun to watch the streets run wild and the sky's flash here and there with thunder and lighting! When we went to bed Elder Navarro opened the window and let's just say that's when it started!
On Tuesday Elder Navarro started to get a sore throat because he said it was the cold air from Monday night and the next day it got worse and his body starting feeling weak and he had headaches. Thursday was the worst because we stayed in the apartment all day making calls and teaching lessons through the phone. It was interesting. Friday and Saturday were a little bit more normal but still tough. On Sunday, I started to feel weak in the body as well and at the time I am writing this I have a headache and the other Elders in our apartment said their feeling sick as well. Also people in C贸rdoba having been telling us that they are sick with a sore throat and all, so I guess something is going around.
Lately, everywhere missionaries have been having to drop people or a baptismal date falls through and it's the same here. I don't know why, but things that happen to us are happening everywhere! It's been a crazy few weeks for sure! One of the good things that I can take away from this week is that my Spanish is definitely improving and we had 5 people show up to church yesterday which is a huge win! We also have lots of lessons set up with members for this week so I'll let you know how things go!
On Friday we had zone conference which went really well! Everything that was talked about coincided with everything that has been happening lately which is good! I definitely learned a lot! At the end of zone conference, I sang in a quartet with Elder Barnes, Hermana Sorensen and Hermana Skousen! We sang Peace in Christ and man it was nice to sing with other singers again! I kind of forgot how much I love singing with others! 馃槄
Anyway that's all for this week folks! I hope everyone is doing well back home!

Baptism again
¡Hola a todos!
This past week we had the baptism of Bautista and he got confirmed yesterday on Sunday! Lots of family and friends showed up to the baptismal service and it was amazing!
This past Tuesday we had the transferly exchange with the Zone leaders and I went with Elder Gardner who is from Orem Utah! He's a great missionary and a hard worker! The exchange day, all the lessons fell through so we had to readjust the schedule like crazy which was a fun time!
These past couple of weeks we have found a couple of pretty good friends to teach and the work in the area is coming along! Yesterday during the second hour of church the elders quorum was talking about how we can fulfill our roles better and help out the missionaries! So I'm excited to start having members present lessons again!
My spanish is coming along slowly but surely and I know in a few more months I'll get to a point of being comfortable! I am always grateful for the help that God gives me daily to accomplish his work!
Anyway hope everyone is doing well at home!

New Companion
¡Hola a todos!
I have officially finished my first week out of training! This past week has been great! I don't feel too anxious about being in charge of the area and it is kind of nice to make decisions about where we are going etc. It is fun to try my best to communicate in Spanish with my companion because it always reminds me how much I still don't know! I am always learning something new each day and it is just the best!
This coming Saturday we are having the baptism for Bauti (the kid that we invited to be baptized some weeks back) and I can't wait for that! I am always super excited to be apart of someone's decision to come unto Christ because Jesus Christ is my power and my redeemer and I love seeing people see the importance of Jesus Christ in their lives!
This week we invited a lady named Claudia to be baptized and she said yes! She said she wants to changes things in her life which is just joy to my ears! Today I listened to the talk "His grace is sufficient" by Bradly R. Wilcox BYU speeches. I HIGHLY recommend giving it a listen or listen to it again if you have already! The message is so powerful and it gave me a stronger testimony and different perspective about what grace is and what Christ really did for us.
During the past 3 months here in Argentina, I have grown spiritually and become more humble through the experience of speaking in a new language and sharing the promises and blessings of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ! I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I love my Heavenly Father! There is a scripture in the Book of Mormon that I have grown to love. It is in Alma 29:9 it says, "I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy."
This scripture truly does share my feelings about being on a mission in this moment! Being an instrument in the hands of the lord and following the commandments to the best of my ability and always striving to become better each day truly is my joy!
I hope everyone is doing well at home and I would love to hear how things are going!

Over Filled and Finished Training!
Hola a todos!
Sorry I didn't write last week! Our phone ran out of data for the month and I didn't write an email with church wifi before work hours so here is an email for the last two weeks!
These past two weeks have been filled with raining, sunny and winding days! For these past two weeks I can say that most of the days have not felt the same which is a good!
This transfer Elder Poulson and I began teaching this older couple Luis and Margarita who were a reference from a less active member! We have been having lessons these past few weeks and they had a baptismal date for the 8th of October! Yesterday on sunday we were able to confirm them members which was an awesome experience!
This past Sunday we also got a new bishop and there was also a baby blessing! Yesterday we had like 150 people at church which is more than normal!
I also went on an exchange with Elder Blanco on Wednesday last week which was way fun! It was pouring rain and the roads were flooded so we had a fun time jumping over rivers! Haha.
Friday Elder poulson and I had a Soccer activity with some of our investigators and we played for about 2 hours which was super fun! We played with the two kids and their fathers that have a baptismal date on the 22nd of October! So stay tuned for that!
The baptism with the older couple went great! We only about 4 members from the ward and us there so it was very chill. Before the baptism Elder Poulson and I went to the church early to fill up the font and we found out that the hot water heater broke so we called a member in the ward to help us fix it really fast! It was only missing a battery so it wasn't broken broken! We filled up the font and we started the baptismal service! Before we started though we turned on the cold water to fill up the font faster and when we were going to baptize Luis, there was water all over the floor because the font had OVER FILLED! So we quickly squeegeed the water outside and continued with the baptism. Haha it was fun!
Transfers news! My new companion is Elder Navarro! He's from Chile! I am super excited to have a native so I can really begin to learn Spanish!
Anyway hope everyone is doing well at home!
